Not sure what a diagnostic trouble code is?

Commonly referred to as a "Diagnostic Trouble Code", "DTC", "ODBC Code", or similar, these codes are stored when the engine computer identifies an abnormal condition. These codes are retrieved by a tool called a OBD Scanner or also know as a "Code Reader".
